How to choose a Kundalini facilitator: green flags, red flags, and trusting your own body

Few days ago I came home from two conferences, put on my old clothes, and spent half a day repotting my plants.

That is the honest picture. A Best Paper Award in one hand, soil under my fingernails by Monday.

Let me share more.

Odd, then belonging

I presented my work at a conference in Washington, and then I went to London and moderated another one. Rooms full of professors, doctors, scientists with PhDs after their names. People who have spent their whole lives inside evidence. And there I was, talking about my method. About Kundalini. About energy.

At the start I felt odd. Slightly out of place… a lot out of place, if I am honest. That old question that turns up at every threshold: do I belong here?

And then, somewhere in the middle of it, I did. I felt belonging. Not because anyone handed it to me, but because I stopped waiting for someone to.

I was scared before I presented. Genuinely scared. But here is the thing I keep coming back to. My body felt good. Not calm-because-I-forced-it. Good. Steady. And I presented confident and fully in my power, not because I performed confidence, but because I trust my work. I trust what I do. I trust my body.

All of that is me trusting what my own Kundalini is telling me. It is the same trust I wrote about when I trusted my body, and then Oxford called.

I left London incredibly proud of myself. Then couple of days later I went to Luv Yourself space and replanted my plants.

What the plants taught me about resonance

There is a reason I have so many plants. They keep teaching me the same lesson in different soil.

You cannot force a plant. You give it light, water, the right pot, and then you have to let it do the thing it already knows how to do. Push too hard, move it too often, drown it in attention, and it suffers.

Repotting for half a day, I understood something about resonance. When we stop pushing beyond our limits, when we trust how the body actually feels, we tend to end up in good places. Not perfect places. Good ones. The right ones for us.

That is what happened at the conference. I did not shove myself into belonging. I trusted the signal in my body, and belonging arrived.

And this is exactly why I choose the people I work with.

Why I say no (and why a good facilitator will)

My training is not for everyone. I am not for everyone.

I used to think saying that out loud was arrogant. Now I think it is one of the most respectful things I can do. When I say no to someone, I am usually protecting both of us. Resonance works both ways. If it is not there, forcing it helps no one. I have written before about why this work does not work for everyone, and choosing well is the other side of that same coin.

I choose my people the same way I read my own body: by whether there is a real yes, not a performed one.

Which brings me to you, and the question underneath all of this. If facilitators are choosing, how do you choose well too?

How to choose a Kundalini facilitator

Kundalini and energy work can open you up. That is the point, and it is also the reason it matters who holds the space. You are not booking a haircut. You are trusting someone with your nervous system. So choose like it.

Here is what I would look for.

Green flags

  • They talk about safety before they talk about spectacle. A good facilitator cares more about whether you feel safe than about how dramatic your session looks. Big shaking is not proof of a good session. Regulation is.

  • They ask about consent, and they mean it. Touch, no touch, when to stop, what you are carrying in your body that day. Consent is a conversation, not a form you sign once.

  • They make you more self-reliant, not more dependent. This is the big one. If the work leaves you needing them more and trusting yourself less, something is off. The point is to hand your power back to you.

  • They are trained and they keep learning. Certificates alone do not make a practitioner, but real, ongoing study matters. So does the humility to still be a student.

  • They let you go. The right guide is genuinely fine if you outgrow them.

Red flags

  • Only they can transmit this. Anyone who tells you that you cannot reach your own energy without them is selling dependency.

  • Charisma doing all the heavy lifting. Charm is luvly. It is not evidence of competence, safety or integrity.

  • No boundaries, unlimited access. A facilitator who blurs every line, who is always available, who makes you feel special in a way that quietly isolates you, is a real risk.

  • Bigger, more, more intense, every time. If the whole thing is a chase for the next high, ask who that is actually serving.

  • Your body says no and they push anyway. This one overrides all the others.

That last line is the whole point. Your body is not an obstacle to get past. It is the most honest instrument you have.

The test that never lies

Read the reviews. Check the training. Ask the questions. All of it matters.

But underneath the research, do the thing I did before I walked on stage in London. Notice what your body does. Not the story in your head. The body. Does it soften, or does it brace? Is there a real yes, or a polite one?

You already know how to do this. You do it every day, with people and rooms and decisions. Energy work is not different. If anything, it asks you to trust that signal more, not less.

A facilitator can hold the torch. A facilitator can create the field and walk beside you into places you are scared to look. But the power you find there has to become yours. If it does not, we have both missed the point. That is really the whole heart of Who is your master?, if you want the longer version.

If you are feeling the call

If you are looking for a Kundalini session, or you are drawn to training as a facilitator yourself, choose with your body, not with your fear of missing out.

My PRISM® Facilitator Training is not for everyone, and I say that with luv. If it is a real yes for you, you will feel it. You can read about the training here, come and experience a session in London here, and if you are curious whether we are a fit, message me and we will feel it out together.

Trust the signal. Choose the step that suits you best right now.

With luv, Natalia x
